Eagles sign fullback to practice squad to replace Ben VanSumeren

The run-heavy Eagles have decided they don’t want to go through the rest of the season without a fullback.
After losing linebacker/fullback Ben VanSumeren late last week to a knee injury that sent him to injured reserve, the team used tight end Grant Calcaterra in that role Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Calcaterra, however, will likely have to move into the role of the No. 1 tight end after Dallas Goedert suffered a knee injury against the Ravens that could keep him out for at least Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
