1981 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

Description

This is a 1981 air-cooled Volkswagon Vanagon.  The van is adventure ready and runs great. A lot of work has gone into it over the past few years, but it maintains its vintage charm and is ready to hit the open road. We’ve listed out a few of the improvements that have been made, and a couple of areas that could use a little love.
The Good Stuff
New gas tank and fuel lines
New brakes and brake lines, emergency brake was professional retightened
New CV joint boots
New canvas with three screened windows. There is pass through access to the storage area above cab.
New tires in 2018. Tread is still great.
Bluetooth and radio, new speakers in driver and passenger doors
Original cook stove with propane burners. Original propane tank was removed and the stove was retrofitted to accommodate 16oz propane tanks.
Working sink with external drain, includes original water tank.  A new faucet was installed on the sink.
New external water and shore electrical hookups
New battery in 2018
Includes 120v outlet powered by second battery
New foam and upholstery on bench seat and sleep pad
Battery monitor with usb charger
Oil temperature and pressure gauges
Previous owner told us the engine was professionally rebuilt ( we have no documentation of that though )
Includes 8 piece window insulation kit that is attached via suction cup
The Less Good Stuff
There is some very minor rust around the windows
Minor body damage below the water/electrical hookups. It was repaired and painted over by a previous owner and has not changed during our ownership
The air vent fan is broken and makes a noise while running
We believe the heater should work, but was disconnected when we bought the van and was never reconnected because we never used van in the winter
Idles low for the first couple minutes after starting up. After it warms up it runs great
There is a crack in the windshield, but it is low and on the passenger side.
Note on the mileage: The odometer only contains 5 digits and 1/10th digit. It currently reads 26786.9 miles
