The room of a van, but drove like a station wagon was how the name Vanagon came to be. Also known as the T3, which was the third generation of transporter built by Volkswagen from 1979 through 1991. They were manufactured in Germany, Austria and South Africa. They were built in a wide variety of styles, from trucks, transporters, campers, 4WD and 2WD, Ambulances and just about anything else you could think of. They were sold in all corners of the world and are as popular now as they ever were. This particular Westy version has spent its life in the dry west of Idaho and is spectacularly clean and rust free. The interior is all original and in very good condition with everything there and in working order. The canvas is in very good condition with some small holes in the front screen. The van was owned by an elderly couple and you can tell it has always been well cared for. Traveling a total of less than 150K miles is also a pretty hard to find rare feature. Unfortunately, the couple is at an age where traveling in the beloved camper is no longer feasible and sold to a friend of theres and unfortunately he is unable to use like he wanted so here it is. The van just had a once over by a Euro mechanic and a few things were done but otherwise given a clean bill of health. Sits on a new set of BFG's, starts easily, idyles perfectly and goes down the road as it should with no shakes or rattles. Does not leak or smoke and in my opinion is one of the nicest T-3's I have seen in here.
