This is an antique Baule tribal peoples hand carved wooden
Kpan mask representing a senior female of the tribe to be used in the
special dance of rejoicing called
Goli which symbolizes the social order. This gorgeous Kpan mask exhibits an elaborate coiffure and refined carving skills and was
collected from the Ivory Coast, Africa.
This antique African Baule tribe Kpan face mask is in great overall condition
with a few cracks in the wood on the back of the mask
and this specimen measures 16 inches tall by 8 inches wide by 6.60 inches deep and weighs 3 pounds 3 ounces.
