Vintage reference photograph of director Robert Florey arranging a shot with actor Peter Lorre on the set of the 1946 film. Printed mimeo snipe affixed to the verso, along with a Warner Brothers stamp, the stamp of photographer Mac Julian, and a provenance stamp.
Based on the 1919 short story by W.F. Harvey. A wealthy, disabled pianist with an interest in the occult is found murdered in his Italian villa, leading local villagers to suspect evil forces involved in his death. Peter Lorre's final film for Warner Brothers, ending a five-year involvement.
