Marching Drum Pad KitThis Kit: Gum Rubber Disc and Instructions
My Rubber Discs: Pure natural gum rubber, cut in a circle.
What is in a kit? The hardest this to find is the bouncy surface, so this kit is a rubber disc and instructions on how to make a pad.
What you need to supply: A board, glue and paint or varnish.
What board works best? ANYTHING you can glue rubber to. I've made pads from metal (bought on eBay), pine, particle board, plywood, marble, decking, old counter tops etc. Just flop your rubber disc on something and try it out, if you like it, build it! A 12" circle, square, hexagon or octagon will make a great looking pad.
Lowes sells a 12" wood disc that is perfect for pads.
I sell a kit that comes with a board for , check my other auctions for Marching Drum Pad Kit #2.
Skill level: You, or someone you know, should be able to cut with a saw (or buy a pre-cut board), follow simple instructions, be able to layout some simple lines on a board, apply glue and paint. I'd say this is about an 8th grade shop project level at minimum. If you have more skills (routing, graphics etc) the sky is the limit.
You can make a nice pad for under . Typically it costs around if you have to buy everything listed, or less if you have some supplies.
I have a nice little YouTube video, just search Marching Arts Marketplace to see discs.
The pictures are just examples of what can be done. Let your creativity go wild, or just build a basic pad for working out on,
Check out my other kits for different sized tenors. If you are building a pad for a tenor player, ask them what size they use. There are a few different combinations out there.
Shipping is actual cost based on the size and weight of the box and your zip code. I use USPS because they come to my house to pick up the packages.
I can make you whatever you need, message me for a custom quote. I recent made 10 8 inch discs for someone that was making snare pads for their school, any order of 6 through 14 inch drums can be made up.
Any proceeds donated to a charity do not mean the charity is associated! I use the proceeds to help drum lines. Some money gets donated on eBay, the rest goes to drumming in the Philly area.
