Vintage borderless reference photograph from the 1947 film noir, showing director George Marshall with actor Alan Ladd on the set, chatting and consulting a script. Printed mimeo snipe affixed to the verso, along with the stamps of Movie Stars Parade and the stamp of still photographer Talmadge Morrison.
Raymond Chandler's only original screenplay, and the second of his two Oscar nominations. The film was completed with just six days of shooting remaining after Chandler, who was suffering from writer's block, convinced producer John Houseman to allow him to go on a bender and finish while working from home.
Set and shot on location in California.
7.75 x 8.5 inches. Very Good plus, lightly edgeworn to the right edge, with cello tape reinforcements on the verso.
